All Saints is committed to safeguarding children and young people and it is our expectation that everyone who works in our school shares this commitment, regardless of whether they are in school on a paid or voluntary basis and regardless of their role within the school. Our high-quality online safety education equips children with a deep understanding of how to use the internet safely and safeguard them in a digital world.
We have weekly online safety updates on our school newsletter and posted on Class Dojo to raise the profile of key online safety messages. We also distribute a copy of ‘Digital Parenting’ to all families when a new issue is published.
Our pupils are taught online safety through their Jigsaw PSHE lessons, within specific units of our Teach Computing curriculum and when we celebrate Safer Internet Day every February. Teachers further support pupils by reminding them how to stay safe online each time they access the internet during lessons. This year, we focused on the theme ‘Too good to be true? Protecting yourself and others from scams online’ which taught our pupils about not only the dangers of scams but what they should do if they experience anything upsetting or uncomfortable online.
